Miss World Australia 2009
The Miss World competition is not simply a judgement of "beauty". We empower our finalists to be intelligent International Ambassadors for foreign trade, Ambassadors for diversity and as powerful voices to assist Australian charities. The Miss World Australia Organization assisted to raise more than $2M last year as part of our "Beauty with a Purpose" initiatives and have helped to redefine the judgement of Beauty to "a healthy body image". We also provided Peer-to-Peer education to young men and women schools on such issues as "Its OK to say No" and "Life Education on Drugs and Alcohol".
The owner of Miss World, Julia Morley, started Beauty with a Purpose 25 years ago. Since its inception it has raised over $450 million dollars for charities around the world.
In 2008 we will continue to strive to make the Australian public aware of the role of Miss World Australia and bring profile to our outstanding young Ambassadors who are making a difference in our society.
We will continue to work on peer-to-peer education and role modeling acceptance of our own bodies.
Miss World Australia is crowned at the Miss World Australia Gala Crowning Dinner. This is a high profile, media driven event, which attracts interest from all parts of the community.
